The development is part of wider upgrades within the UK to support new renewable power generation, inline with Scotland’s net zero ambitions. The project will include a 400kV overhead line, which would run from the proposed Gala North Substation near Lauder in the north to Scotland-England Border in the south.

In this consultation we are asking local people to share their views. These will inform the development of a Section 37 application to the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit (ECU), to acquire consent for the development.
