XX Route Overhead Line Diversion

Section 37 application

An application for consent has been submitted to the Scottish Ministers under section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989 and for deemed planning permission under section 57(2) of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 to permanently divert an approximate 0.8km section of existing 275 kilovolt (kV) overhead line in North Lanarkshire, known as the ‘XX Route’ and hereafter referred to as the Proposed Diversion.

The XX route, is an approximately 15km long 275kV overhead line between Easterhouse and Newarthill substations. An approximately 0.8 km section of the route to the east of Airdrie on open farmland at Wester Moffat requires to be diverted to accommodate the new University Hospital Monklands.

The application can also be viewed on the Scottish Government Energy Consents website at www.energyconsents.scot under application reference ECU ECU00004705 where representations can also be made.
