Storm Éowyn Compensation

In line with the Energy Regulator, Ofgem’s Guaranteed Standards covering exceptional events, customers impacted by Category 2 Storm Éowyn may be eligible to receive compensation.

Once all properties have been restored, we will proactively contact customers entitled to payments. If you are eligible, our customer service team will contact you. There is no need to contact us, we will be in touch if you are eligible. Please look out for a text or letter to your property. 

Ofgem’s Guaranteed Standards for a Category 2 Storm

  • For loss of your supply, you are entitled to £85 if your power has been cut off for 48 hours or more.
  • You are entitled to a further £40 for every complete 6-hour period after 48 hours.
  • The maximum amount you can claim for loss of your supply is £2,000.
  • Compensation claims over and above the loss of your power supply, should be referred to your home or business insurer.

If you have been off supply or remain without power, we can offer you reimbursement for hot food and drinks of up to £10 a day per meal (max 3 meals per day) up to a max of £120 per household per day. You can apply for this through our online form by clicking this link.
