At SP Energy Networks we are committed to deliver a Net Zero path. Here you can find what our plans are in terms of sustainability in some key focus areas.
Carbon
The development and maintenance of our infrastructure as a key enabler for energy security and the Net Zero transition has never been more important.
Circular Economy
The principles of a circular economy and efficient use of resources will be embedded in our business. The materials required for network construction and operation will come from sustainable sources. We will produce zero waste, with the components of all end-of-life assets being reused or recycled into new products.
Supply Chain
We cannot reach Net Zero without our suppliers and contractors, as a resilient network needs a supply chain to match. We are taking a leading role to ensure our suppliers have the knowledge, resources, and the support they need, as a strong relationship with our supply chain is critical to facilitate Net Zero.
Biodiversity
We have a responsibility to preserve and enhance our natural environment and are proactively working to improve biodiversity within local communities across our network.
Environmental Management
Our Environmental Policy commitments are key in guiding our business operations. By minimising environmental risks and impacts we can both facilitate the transition to a low-carbon society whilst reducing our own carbon footprint to meet company and national Net Zero targets.
