Omega 132Kv Overhead Line Diversion 2

SP Energy Networks has submitted an application to the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy under Section 37 of the Electricity Act 1989 to divert an existing 132kV overhead line in St Helens, England. This will facilitate new industrial development in the area.

The application is for a new section of 132kV single circuit wood pole overhead line, originating at the existing 132kV pole (FH217R) located south of the M62, approximately 2km west of Junction 8, M62 Warrington. The proposed new section of 132kV overhead line will run south from the existing pole FH217R for 7 spans, turning west for the final span. Here it will rejoin the existing 132kV line at pole FH213A. The proposed overhead line is a diversion of the existing overhead line that runs through these fields. The poles are being shifted to the east by between 60 and 70m to enable to progression of the proposed industrial development. Existing poles FH216, FH215 and FH214 shall be removed once the new overhead is in place. This is the second diversion of the 132kV line in this area to facilitate new industrial development.
