SP Energy Networks is providing the connection for the Minnigap Wind Farm situated approximately 10km South West of Moffat. The connection will be provided via an underground cable from the wind farm to the existing Bearholm substation at Moffat.
We have works planned at the existing Moffat Substation to re-inforce the network and facilitate the connection via an underground cable for Minnygap Windfarm. Programme duration is August 2016 through to the end of March 2017. The physical aspects of the work at the substation will be confined and controlled within the boundary of the substation. Working hours within the substation will be Monday - Thursday 07.30 - 18.00 hours. Friday 07.30 - 14.30 hours and Saturday / Sunday (when required) 08.00 - 16.30 hours. There will be no interruption to supplies while this work is underway.
The connection involves a cable being installed between Minnigap Windfarm and the existing substation, at Bearholm on the outskirt of Beattock. A section of the route involves the cable being installed alongside or under the public roadway. The route of the cable is shown on the map below. We anticipate the cable works will start in September 2016 for approximately 18 weeks. Works will be over 7 days, 7.00am until 7.00pm (to minimise disruption).
