Supporting Local Authorities and Local, Regional and National Government bodies to better understand the network implications of their Low Carbon Technology (LCT) plans:
- We provide tools and services to help develop local and regional energy strategies.
- We can support Local Authorities and Local, Regional and National Government bodies with the development of their LCT programmes to encourage the rollout of electric vehicles (EV), heat pumps and distributed generation.
We aim to support Local Authorities and Local, Regional and National Government bodies by providing detailed information that will enable better decision making as they deliver their LCT programmes of work.
LCT Optioneering - What we can offer
SP Energy Networks can provide an estimated cost and expected delivery timescale for various locations of LCT connections.
To inform our analysis, we request that the Local Authority and Regional Government bodies provide the following:
- Location of connection – Ordnance Survey Grid Reference and Postcode Required.
- Type of LCT to be connected – Electric Vehicle (EV), Heat Pump, Solar Photovoltaic, Distributed Energy Resource.
A summary of our three options are outlined below:
Option 1
SP Energy Networks to provide an estimation of the amount of available capacity at each location without the requirement for any upstream network reinforcement work to be completed.
Option 2
SP Energy Networks to provide an estimation of the connection cost and expected timescale for any required works for the agreed number of planned LCT connections.
