Lorg Wind Farm Grid Connection

We are proposing the construction of a new 132kV wood pole overhead line in Dumfries & Galloway. The proposed development is needed to connect the proposed Lorg Wind Farm to the electricity network.

A pre-application consultation was held in April – June 2024 to provide an update on the Proposed Route of the overhead line and invite stakeholders and the public to share any feedback.

We are now reviewing all comments received to help finalise the route alignment, which will be taken forward to Section 37 application later this year. There will be further opportunities to provide comments following the submission of the Section 37 application.

We will continue to keep you up to date via this project webpage.

For more information on the Proposed Route presented during 2024 consultation, an information leaflet is available to view via the link below under ‘Useful Documents’.

Background information on the route selection process is available in the Routeing Consultation Report (online copy below or hard copy at Carsphairn Shop and Tearoom and Dumfries & Galloway Council) and the Amendments to the Preferred Route report (online copy below).
