We initially developed our Local Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategies (LHEES) tool to support our Scottish Local Authorities develop their LHEES plans. We have now developed improved functionality for the tool which has been rebranded as LANIT (Local Authority Network Insight Tool) – to support Local Authorities in developing their Local Area and Regional Energy Plans.
This tool enables Local Authorities to simulate the network impact of the addition of electric vehicle charge points or heat pumps in their local area.
- Supports Local Authorities and Local, Regional and National Government bodies in developing their Local Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategies (LHEES), Local Area Energy Plans (LAEPs) and Reginal Energy Plans.
- Provides a view of current cable and substation capacity, constraints and associated indicative costs for reinforcement work.
- Informs our decision making on potential future network requirements.
- Promotes a shared knowledge around future network requirements.
Access to LANIT Tool
LANIT Version 1 is now available via our Open Data Portal. If you’re interested, please get in touch with our Strategic Optimisation team to request your login or to request a demo of the tool - StrategicOptimisation@spenergynetworks.co.uk.
