This safety information is for anyone who plans to undertake any leisure activity or erect a temporary structure near our overhead network.
Tips for staying safe -
- If possible, avoid pitching a tent or caravan directly under an overhead line.
- Always carry out a risk assessment and be aware of overhead lines when erecting any tv ariels or radio masts to caravans.
- Do not light fires or BBQ’s underneath overhead lines.
- Do not fly kites in areas where overhead lines are present, kites strings WILL conduct electricity.
- If you have overhead lines on your site, contact us for free safety information.
- Fishing rods and boat masts WILL conduct electricity.
- When fishing, keep atleast 30 metres away from overhead lines and cast with care.
- Rubber boots or waders will not protect you.
