SP Energy Networks is proposing to construct a new 132kV substation at Holm Hill in Dumfries and Galloway, approximately 3.5km north-west of Carsphairn and 12 km south-east of Dalmellington.
The proposed substation is needed to connect local wind farms to the electricity transmission network. This includes the Lorg Wind Farm and Quantans Hill Wind Farm.
An initial consultation event was held on 28 August 2024 and the consultation period ran from 16 August to 13 September 2024. During this time, feedback was invited from landowners, members of the public and interested parties on the proposed substation. The period for receipt of comments has now closed.
We are hosting a public drop-in event where we will share information on how we have taken into account the questions and comments raised during the consultation period. We invite you to speak to our team by attending the event being held on:
Wednesday 13th November, 2pm – 7pm, Lagwyne Hall, Carshapirn, DG7 3TQ
Following the event, an application for planning permission will be prepared for submission to Dumfries and Galloway Council.
