SP Energy Networks are proposing the construction of a new 132kV wood pole overhead line (OHL) from the proposed Euchanhead Wind Farm to the proposed Lorg substation in Dumfries & Galloway
The development is needed to connect the proposed Euchanhead wind farm to the transmission network as has been requested by the developer.
Routeing Stage
The project commences with the routeing consultation stage, before progressing to Environmental Impact Assessment (if required) and subsequent application for consent.
During this consultation stage we are seeking views on the route selection process we have so far undertaken and the preferred route that has been arrived at.
Our public consultation runs from 22nd November to 17th December 2021
SP Energy Networks attaches great importance to the effect our work may have on the environment and local communities. We want to hear what local people think about our plans, to help us develop the project in the best way.
In particular, we would like people’s views on our preferred overhead line route, and anything you would like us to take into account when planning where the overhead line should go. A feedback form to share your views is available here

The Covid-19 pandemic means that we can’t hold public exhibitions in the usual way. However, project information will be available during the consultation period, with materials available to download below and leaflets also distributed to properties within a 5km vicinity of the proposed development.
