SP Energy Networks play a central role in delivering the Scottish Energy Strategy which sets out the roadmap to ensure Scotland’s electricity consumption continues to move increasingly to clean and renewable energy.
Transmission major projects have recently commenced operations in the Kincardine area to reconfigure the overhead lines and underground cabling at key points at this location – the work which is known as the East Coast Onshore Upgrade will include directional underground drilling.
These significant changes will ensure the network has increased capability in the transfer of electricity between Transmission Operators. The investment cost for this project is around £19 million with the completion date scheduled for Q2 2025.
SP Energy Networks are proud to play a key role in the nations move to renewable energy and building a sustainable clean economy.
