We're helping Support in Mind through our COVID-19 fund

22/05/2020

We are pleased to be able to help a charity improving the quality of life of people in Greater Glasgow and Angus suffering from mental health problems reach more people in need over the pandemic.

Support In Mind has been experiencing high demand for their specialist help as people adjust to isolation and lockdown. Thanks to funding from our COVID-19 charity fund, the charity has been able to put in place a new remote service to allow them to increase their carer support.

Moving to a remote model in response to COVID-19 has generated additional costs for the charity, particularly around technology. With our funding the charity has been able to meet these costs and provided laptops to carers and an additional 3.5 hours of support a week for 24 weeks.

Frances Simpson, Support in Mind Scotland CEO, said: "We are extremely grateful to SP Energy Networks for generously supporting us during these challenging times. This funding has allowed us to provide our Carers Support Workers in Greater Glasgow and Angus with laptops and additional staff time to directly support more than 40 people who are caring for a loved one affected by mental illness."

Visit the Support in Mind website for more information about the services they provide.

We have a FREE Priority Services Register for those customers who may need a little extra help in a power cut.
