ScottishPower Invests in Electricity Network Upgrade in Dunfermline

24/06/2013

ScottishPower is starting work on the second phase of a £450k investment project to upgrade the Nethertown Primary substation in Broad Street, which will help boost the capacity on the electricity network to Dunfermline Town Centre. This significant upgrade will aid further developments in the area, as well as improving the overall reliability of electricity supplies for years to come.

ScottishPower in partnership with Morrison Construction will commence work on Monday 1st July with the work due to be completed on Sunday 14th July.

Both companies have been working closely with Fife Council and Traffic Management will be in place on Nethertown Broad Street throughout the period of the excavation.

ScottishPower is committed to ensuring local residents and businesses are informed of the work, and every attempt will be made in ensuring disruption will be kept to a minimum.

The programme of work has been developed to avoid any disruption to customer’s supplies during this upgrade.

William Hamill, ScottishPower Project Manager said: ““We are committed to investing in our electricity network, and this project will help to ensure that the network in Dunfermline Town Centre is modern and robust.”
