Part A

Coylton Substation New Cumnock Substation and - Coylton Substation to New Cumnock overhead line energised in 2016.


Part B & C

The new overhead line between New Cumnock Substation and the new substation at Blackhill. The new Glenglass substation will connect to Blackhill Substation via a second overhead line. The works related to construct these overhead lines and substations is substantially complete and first circuit energised March 2018. Ongoing works to complete remaining works remove access tracks will continue into the Autumn of 2018.


Parts D2, D3 and D4

Originally constituting parts D1, D2, D3 and D4, there are now only three ‘Part D’ elements, as Part D1 was not taken forward, as North Kyle wind farm did not get consent.

Part D2 – the 132kV wood pole overhead line and cable between Dersalloch wind farm and New Cumnock substation was energised in August 2016.

D3 - refers to Dun Hill substation, two underground 132kV cables approximately 100m in length will connect the substation directly into the overhead line between Black Hill and New Cumnock Substations. The cable to connect Dunhill SS with the overhead line is installed and the first circuit energised June 2017.

D4 - is an underground cable running between Black Hill substation and Pencloe wind farm to construct 2019 / 2020.

Works for the overall Project to remove access tracks and the old tower line will continue into the Autumn of 2018.
